 About Chhattisgarh State :

 

       Chhattisgarh state was formed after being carved out of Madhya Pradesh on November 1st , 2000 . Chhattisgarh is basically a rural state where 79.9% population resides in 19,658 villages. Schedule Tribe and Schedule Caste constitute about 31.8% and 11.61% of the total population respectively. As per the latest survey about 44.9% families are living below poverty line. The percentage of BPL families is the highest in Dantewada (64%) and the lowest in Durg (34%).
